There is significant building work underway at Canberra Hospital as part of the Canberra Hospital Expansion. For more information head to the Canberra Hospital Master Plan.
This means there will be some changes to the way you access the hospital.
Please see below for current information. We will keep this page updated with the latest information and an updated campus map as building works progress.
Hospital Road changes
Hospital Road has been split in two to make way for our new Critical Services Building. This means:
- there is a new temporary public entrance to Canberra Hospital
- you won't be able to drive through the full length of Hospital Road
- there will be u-turns on the north and south sides of Hospital Road.
There are extra pathways to help you get from the north and south sides of Hospital Road, via the new temporary entrance. We have Pedestrian Management Officers around to help you find your way; look for the people wearing fluoro pink vests.
You can still reach Centenary Hospital for Women and Children and the National Capital Private Hospital and its car park from either Yamba Drive or Gilmore Crescent.
At the moment our courtesy bus stops outside Building 15 with another coming soon to Building 2. Our taxi rank is remains near the main entry to the hospital.
