breadcrumbs--blue-border bob

Canberra Health Services has two GP Liaison units (GPLU) that enhance communication and partnerships between our health services and general practitioners. This facilitates a seamless health service delivery and safe clinical handover of patients back to their primary health care provider.

Our GP Liaison Units are located at Canberra Hospital and North Canberra Hospital. They act as a point of contact between health services for GPs, practice staff and other primary health providers for anything related to their patients, health services, referral processes and general advice.

The teams are available to:

  • provide clinical support over the phone for GPs
  • represent GPs on various hospital committees
  • provide input into eHealth related activities
  • organise and facilitate the quarterly GP Liaison Network Meeting
  • organise and facilitate GP education events
  • inform the GP community about CHS services via the GP Liaison newsletters
  • maintain the GP provider directory
  • liaise with relevant stakeholders across the acute care system and primary care

If you have any feedback or suggestions, please get in touch with us.
