The Novice Nurse Consolidation Program is a six-month transition program for nursing staff registered for at least 12 months to help them transition to the acute care setting.
The Nursing and Midwifery Resource Office offers the 6-month program which consists of two, 3-month rotations through acute clinical areas. Our program builds on what you already know and supports you to learn new skills.
We will provide diverse learning opportunities in the form of:
- dedicated study days
- clinical workshops that cover procedures such as drawing blood, taking samples, inserting IVs and managing central venous access devices
- in-services with a variety of presenters who are expert in their fields.
Our team of educators will support and assess key learning competencies. We will help you reach your career goals so you can give safe, high-quality nursing care to our patients.
