About our Allied Health New Graduate Program
The Allied Health New Graduate program is targeted at Speech Pathologists, Dietitians, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists and Social Workers. Canberra Health Services employs new graduates in a number of allied health professions where access to a number of the benefits and opportunities explained below are available.
For the targeted professions, we offer a hassle-free, streamlined application process - one application for all new graduate jobs available for your discipline. You can select your preferences for your preferred clinical caseloads during the recruitment process.
We have designed a comprehensive and supportive orientation program to give your career the best start, including:
- an in-depth interdisciplinary Allied Health face-to-face program

- tailored individual clinical supervision from experienced discipline team members
- a buddy program with recent graduate for extra support

Our Interprofessional Education is high-value and evidence based, offering:

Our 12-month graduate program will build on your university education by providing you with the learning and support required to be a skilled and confident clinician. Our program will also provide you with opportunities to build and strengthen your networks, with opportunities for interprofessional and discipline-specific training, peer support and clinical supervision and social events.
We offer permanent positions for Social Workers, Psychologists and Occupational Therapists if you achieve competency during the new graduate program, and one year contracts with possibility of extension or permanency for Dietitians, Speech Pathologists and Physiotherapists.

Eligibility
The program, which commences each year in February is open to passionate and enthusiastic health professionals from the following disciplines:
- Dietitians
- Occupational Therapists
- Physiotherapists
- Psychologists (eligible to join the two-year registrar program to obtain endorsement)
- Social Workers
- Speech Pathologists.
Mid-year intake (commencing in August) is also available to eligible Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Social Workers.
All recently graduated professionals and those with less than 12 months' experience outside the public health service are eligible to apply.
