We encourage and value open communication on our social media pages. We want you and our community to feel welcome and safe to express yourself and share your thoughts.

We would like to remind users of our social media sites that moderators may hide or remove any comments that:

  • are considered derogatory, offensive, defamatory, hurtful, insensitive and inappropriate
  • include language that is meant to harass, threaten, defame or abuse an individual or specific groups
  • are threatening, abusive or include violent language regarding race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, political beliefs or other targeted groups
  • contain personal or sensitive information, including health information
  • contain links to spam, baiting or advertisements
  • contain unlawful links or links that may defame, discriminate, offend, interfere with privacy or infringe copyright, or other intellectual property rights
  • include advertisements or endorsements of any commercial organisations
  • include inaccurate, false, misleading or deceptive information
  • promote views that are contradicted by evidence-based research and global health expertise, and which pose a threat to public and individual health, including users who harass others with incorrect medical information
  • breach the ACT Government's social media community guidelines
  • violate Facebook's Terms of Use.

If you are found to be repeatedly breaching these community guidelines, you may be banned from our pages.

If we are made aware of any comments or posts made on social media sites, outside of our official social media pages, that are threatening, unlawful or abusive, and relate to or involve Canberra Health Services, we will investigate these comments and take necessary action to protect our health services, our team members, patients, their families and their carers.
