Position Overview

Infrastructure and Health Support Services, a division of Canberra Health Services, are responsible for:

  • Capital Project Delivery
  • Facilities Management
  • Operational Support Services
  • Business Operations

Reporting to the Executive Group Manager, the Senior Director of Operational Support Services (OSS), is responsible for the provision of a range of client services to support the operations across various Canberra Health Services (CHS) locations. The division is committed to the CHS values, role, and vision.

Duties

Under limited direction from the Executive Group Manager, IHSS, you will:

  1. Provide high-level advice, leadership and manage the strategic, operational, and evaluative processes required for the efficient and effective provision of Client Services (main reception, residences, mail services, fire safety, transport, volunteers, and switchboard), and Protective Services (physical security, information security, personnel security, and governance security), being the four pillars of the ACT Protective Security Framework.
  2. Have knowledge of and provide leadership and strategic direction over the Territory’s reporting requirements for the above portfolios.
  3. Develop and manage financial and human resources for the division including the preparation of the annual budget estimates and management of reporting of financial performance against budgets and business plans.
  4. In consultation with the Executive Group Manager IHSS, develop, implement, and evaluate policies and processes that support the strategic direction, business plan and KPI’s of the division and IHSS.
  5. Provide leadership and promote a commitment to ongoing improvement of culture, organisational values and high-quality customer service principles, practices, and attributes.
  6. Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.

Position Requirements / Qualifications

Mandatory

  • A current unencumbered ACT Driver’s Licence (or equivalent) is essential.
  • This position is a Designated Security Assessed Position under the ACT Protective Security Framework. It is a requirement of the position that the occupant holds a national security clearance of NEGATIVE VETTING 1 or can obtain a national security clearance. The successful applicant will be placed on a temporary contract until successfully obtaining this clearance.
  • The successful applicant is expected to be available for weekend/public holidays and after-hours work and will be provided with a work-issued mobile phone, access to flex time and paid allowances in accordance with the current Enterprise Agreement.
  • CHS is leading the drive to digitally transform health service delivery in Australia through the implementation of a territory wide Digital Health Record. Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates and contingencies.
