The Canberra Hospital Emergency Department (ED) is at the Canberra Hospital, Yamba Drive, Garran. We have information about how to get to Canberra Hospital.

The Emergency Department is in Building 12, at the top of Bateson Road, next to the Bateson Road entrance to the hospital. The building is white and has yellow, orange and brown stripes. There is an ambulance bay at the front and a large EMERGENCY sign.

To enter the Emergency Department, use the undercover walkway under the ‘Patient drop off zone’ to the right of the EMERGENCY sign.

Drop off and pick up is available at the entrance and the Canberra Hospital Courtesy Bus stops here every 15 minutes.

The closest parking is the Emergency Department Bateson Road short stay car park.

Use either the Yamba Drive South or the southern multi storey car park for longer stays.

Find out about our parking options.

There may be changes to the way you get to our services while we build a bigger hospital.
