In a life threatening emergency dial Triple Zero (000)

If you come for chemotherapy or radiation therapy, you will generally not stay overnight.

We have modern, purpose-built facilities to keep you safe and comfortable during your treatment.

Radiation therapy is delivered by our linear accelerators, or linacs.

Our linacs deliver treatment to a specific tumour area with accuracy and precision. This means we can save healthy tissue, reduce side effects and have better tumour control. Around 100 patients receive radiation therapy via a linac at the Canberra Region Cancer Centre every day.

During treatment, you will be able to listen to music and communicate with your health care team.

Our Radiation Oncology waiting room provides a private, supportive and nurturing atmosphere for people as they await treatment.

If you are here for chemotherapy or an infusion you will generally receive it in one of our electronic recliner chairs. The electric controls on the chairs help you to get in and out of the chairs with ease and provide a comfortable space for treatment.

We have a large blanket warming cabinet, so that warm blankets are available for people receiving treatment. Our volunteers are on hand to get you a cup of tea or coffee.
