Mobile dental clinics provide better access to dental services for vulnerable and disadvantaged Canberrans.
About this service
Residential Aged Care (RAC):
The RAC truck moves around the ACT to partnered Residential Aged Care Facilities.
This service aims to provide check-ups, fillings, extractions and dentures, to patients who live at partnered Residential Aged Care facilities.
At times when our mobile dental clinics are offline, eligible people will have priority access to our community-based clinics.
Targeted Access Program (TAP):
Partnered organisations who support vulnerable ACT residents can refer clients for check-ups, fillings, extractions, and dentures at our community dental clinics.
School Outreach Clinics:
The mobile school truck can visit participating schools normally in low socioeconomic areas to provide preventative treatment to students and provide a referral back to the service clinics for further treatment if required.
Child and youth clients can access restorative and preventive services through most community dental clinics where dental therapy services are offered.
Who we care for
We care for ACT residents who fall into one of the categories described above and who are the primary holder of:
- a Centrelink-issued Pension Concession or Health Care Card
- a Veteran’s affairs card
- an ACT Services Access card
Please note we also have a community based dental program for both adults and children and youth.
