Who we care for
Adult dental services are available to ACT residents who are the primary holder of:

Emergency dental services are available to all eligible adults once they have been assessed as needing a priority appointment.

Please note this does not include the surrounding areas of the ACT such as Yass, Murrumbateman, Queanbeyan, Cooma and Goulburn.
How to access this service
If you are eligible for this service, you can contact your nearest clinic to register on the wait list. Your local clinic can also assess you for an emergency appointment if you are having an issue.
Otherwise, you can call to be assessed for an emergency appointment. Please call Central Health Intake on (02) 5124 9977.
What to expect
If you are assessed as needing a priority appointment, we will offer you an appointment at one of our community health centres. Some eligible adults may be offered a voucher to attend one of the participating private providers to have their main complaint looked at.
There are waiting lists for some adult restorative and denture services. To join the waiting list, please contact any of our health centres, or fill out the Electronic Wait List Placement form (DOCX, 49.65 KB) and email it to dental@act.gov.au.
Once you come to the top of the waiting list, we will contact you by phone or letter to offer you an exam appointment. You will need to present your current Centrelink issued Pension Concession/Health Care, Veteran’s affairs card or access card at the time of your appointment.
Co-payments may apply:
- an emergency course of care is $49.15
- denture repair is a minimum of $49.15
There is a cap of $515 per course of care for restorative treatments. This does not include root canal therapy, splints or denture work.
