Our Mental Health Neuropsychology team is a specialised mental health service. We provide comprehensive neuropsychology assessments and interventions to people currently registered with mental health teams within Canberra Health Services.

About this service

We offer comprehensive neuropsychological assessments and neuropsychological interventions.

A neuropsychological assessment looks at a range of thinking abilities such as:

  • attention and concentration
  • memory
  • language
  • planning and organisation
  • reasoning and problem solving
  • academic skills.

A neuropsychological assessment can be useful for:

  • helping with diagnosis and treatment planning
  • understanding your thinking skills, including areas of strength and challenge
  • providing you with strategies to help support your thinking skills day to day
  • helping to guide planning for important areas of life, like independent living or returning to work or study.

A neuropsychological intervention is a therapy aimed at improving your thinking skills in day-to-day life. This can be useful for:

  • helping with daily tasks
  • helping with work or study.
