Our Clinical Technology Workshop manufactures, repairs and modifies all appliances or aids for mobility and independent living.
About this service
We offer the following services for daily living and mobility equipment:
- servicing and repairs
- modification and adjustments
- custom design and manufacture of devices or their components (in conjunction with your treating therapist)
- fabrication and modification.
Daily living and mobility equipment includes (but is not limited to):
- manual and power wheelchairs
- commodes
- hoists and hospital beds
- prosthetic limbs
- orthoses, and
- custom footwear.
Who we care for
We provide services to the ACT community and surrounding NSW region from the Village Creek Centre, Kambah.
Canberra Health Services is a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) registered provider. If you are eligible for NDIS funding you need to include our services in your plan. Our team can provide information and/or recommendations to assist in the NDIS planning process if required.
If you are not eligible for NDIS funding, you can access our services as a public or privately funded client. We can help you identify your eligibility for the funding of services or equipment through alternate funding sources.

How to access this service
Referrals for equipment repair can be made through the Village Creek reception directly. We accept referrals from clients, carers and other service providers. Please phone (02) 5124 1057.
Referrals for equipment modifications or customisation or prosthetic and orthotic services must be made through your treating therapist via Village Creek reception.

What to expect
You may be asked the details of any funding arrangements, for example, NDIS, insurance company, ACT Equipment Scheme or other third-party source or charitable foundation.
Appointments can be confirmed in person, by phone or by mail or email.
We are happy to work with you to solve any issue, mobility or otherwise, in relation to independent living.
What to bring to your appointment
- Medicare card
- Any letters or correspondence from your general practitioner
- Health Care Card and/or concession card (if you have one)
- Private health insurance card (if applicable/if you want to use it)
- Medicines you need to take while you are here
- A copy of your current NDIS plan will be useful if you are an NDIS participant.
