The Adolescent Mobile Outreach Service is a part of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).
We provide assessment and treatment for adolescents aged 13-18 years with moderate to severe mental illness who experience barriers to accessing mainstream services and require intensive outreach support.
About this service
Our clinicians help manage serious and complex problems in adolescents and their families through a comprehensive assessment and treatment program.
Our team is made up of mental health nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, and doctors.
Our services are available 7 days a week between 8:30am and 4:51pm.

Our services are available for people aged between 13 and 18 years who:
- live in the ACT
- are experiencing a moderate to severe mental illness
- experience challenges in accessing mental health services

How to access this service
We do not accept external referrals; the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Community teams will refer you to us if you need the level of service that we provide.
Any person who has concerns for the mental health of a person under the age of 18 years can refer to the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Community teams by calling either:
- CAMHS Southside on (02) 5124 3133 or
- CAMHS Northside on (02) 5124 1407
We can take your call Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 4:30pm (except public holidays)
Outside these hours you can call Access Mental Health on 1800 629 354 or (02) 6205 1065. This is a crisis support service available 24/7.
What to expect

We’ll communicate with you by phone, text, email and home visiting throughout the assessment and treatment process.
What to bring to your appointment

- Health Care Card and/or concession card (if you have one)
- List of medicines you are currently taking (or the boxes), including medicines you have bought without a prescription, such as herbal supplements and vitamins
Where we’re located
We use an outreach model. This means many of our interventions will happen in the community (such as at home or at school).
Psychiatric reviews for clients engaged with our team may occur at your home or at our clinics at Belconnen Community Health Centre and Callam Offices.
We have directions and transport information to both Belconnen Community Health Centre and Callam Offices.
