Gynaecology Oncology Service covers the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients with suspected or confirmed gynaecological cancer such as cervical, uterine, vulva, ovarian or vaginal cancer.
About this service
We provide outpatient and inpatient services for the treatment of people with cancer of the female reproductive system.
Patients who are suspected to have a gynaecological cancer can be referred by their GP or another medical clinic to our clinic at the Canberra Hospital. This clinic is staffed by gynaecological oncologists supported by nurses and junior doctors.
Surgery is performed at Canberra's public hospitals.
This service works in close coordination with other services that provide care for patients with gynaecological cancers including medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, social workers, physiotherapists, psychologists and others.
Who we care for
People with suspected or confirmed gynaecological cancer such as cervical, uterine, vulva, ovarian or vaginal cancer who are referred by another specialist or a GP.
