Shower Stool
What is a shower stool?
A shower stool allows a person to sit down while showering. It has a seat, height-adjustable legs, armrests, and some models include a backrest. It can be used in a shower or bathroom and is designed to get wet.

How to set up a shower chair
- Adjust the legs so that the hips are higher than the knees, with feet flat on the floor.
- Press the push button on each leg to raise or lower the height until it locks into place.
- Use the leg with extra holes for uneven floors and position it closest to the drain.
- Ensure all legs are in full contact with the ground and the seat is level.
Precautions
- Check that all push buttons are securely locked before sitting.
- Take care when standing, as surfaces may be slippery.
- Apply even pressure on both armrests to prevent tipping.
- Do not exceed the weight limit shown on the equipment.

Care and Maintenance
- Clean the shower stool weekly using warm, soapy water and a cloth. Rinse it with disinfectant and dry with a cloth to stop corrosion.
- Check the stool weekly for cracks, rust around the push buttons and that the rubber stoppers are in good condition.
- If the shower stool is damaged, stop using it and contact the Equipment Loan Service for assistance.
If your needs change or you need your equipment to be re-assessed, please contact your treating therapist.
