The Enrolled Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to achieve exceptional health care. The position description covers positions throughout Canberra Hospital, North Canberra Hospital and UCH, which can include but are not limited to:

Duties

Under limited direction of your manager, you will perform duties as a Enrolled Nurse Level 1 in an acute care service. You will:

  1. Assist in the provision of comprehensive direct nursing care, within the scope of practice of an Enrolled Nurse, under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse.
  2. Provide patient centred care within an ethical and professional framework.
  3. Practice in accordance with the relevant legislation.
  4. Practice in a way that acknowledges the dignity, culture, values, beliefs, and rights of individuals and/or groups.
  5. Advocate for individuals and or groups and their rights for nursing care within the organisational and management structure.
  6. Understand and practices within own scope of practice.
  7. Integrate nursing and health care knowledge, skills and attitudes to provide safe and effective nursing care.
  8. Integrate organisational policy and guidelines with professional standards.
  9. Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.

Position Requirements / Qualifications

Mandatory

  • Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Completed successful graduation in the diploma of nursing within the last year.
  • CHS is leading the drive to digitally transform health service delivery in Australia through the implementation of a territory wide Digital Health Record. Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates, and contingencies.
  • Candidates must have working rights in Australia, to apply.
  • Have an understanding of how the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators align with this role.
  • Experience or knowledge of the CHS Exceptional Care FrameworkClinical Governance Framework, Partnering With Consumers Framework and all other related frameworks.
