Ward numbers can be found on the hospital directory at the lift lobby and stairwell.
Room numbers are usually located on the wall at the entrance to each room.
We have ward lists for Canberra Hospital ward locations and University of Canberra Hospital ward locations.
Staff stations
Each ward has a staff station or reception. If you are visiting someone on the ward our staff at the station can help direct you to the right room.
Lounge and shared areas
When visiting with family and friends please be considerate of all the patients in the room. There are lounge and shared areas located on each ward. If you are visiting someone in the hospital or a patient having loved one’s visit, our lounge rooms are a great place to meet, particularly if you are bringing along small children. Visitors are not allowed in mental health inpatient bedrooms.
Beverage bays
As well as our lounge areas, wards have tea and coffee beverage bay. Patients and visitors are welcome to use the bays to make a cup of tea or coffee. For safety we ask that hot drinks are not taken into patient rooms. More on this in our food and mealtimes information.
Other facilities and support while you're here
There are also other facilities available to young people and their families in this unit, including a large internal courtyard with benches and play equipment, and support facilities, like the Ronald McDonald Family Room.
