Rapid Assessment Unit

The Rapid Assessment Unit (RAU) is an alternative to attending the emergency department if you have urgent care needs related to your cancer diagnosis or the treatment.

Radiation Oncology Nurse Led Clinic

When you complete your radiation oncology treatment, the Radiation Oncology Nurse Led Clinic is available for you. You can access the clinic for up to 6 weeks after your treatment, or under the direction of the treating Radiation Oncologist.

ACT & Southern NSW Head & Neck Cancer Support Group

The ACT & Southern NSW Head and Neck Cancer Support Group is for people who have had treatment for head and neck cancer. Family, friends and carers are also welcome.

The group aims to:

  • meet and support others who have had similar treatments
  • receive education on head and neck cancer treatments and care after treatment
  • receive and share information on wellbeing and adjusting to life with a head and neck cancer diagnosis.

The group meets at Canberra Hospital on the second Wednesday of every other month. Meetings are held from 12.30pm to 2pm.

Cancer support groups can offer you support and information. They usually bring together people, families or carers affected by cancer to offer mutual support and a safe place to discuss and manage challenges. Some groups are for specific cancer types, while others are more general.
