A new Maternity Assessment Unit has opened at Centenary Hospital for Women and Children.
This midwifery led service provides assessment and monitoring services to people who:
- are greater than 19+6 weeks pregnant, or
- have issues related to a recent (within the last 14 days) birth.
Following relocation and refurbishment, the new unit has doubled in size and is now located close to the Birthing Unit, creating efficiencies in how patients are assessed and managed.
The new design also supports a new Model of Care, which incorporates 24-hour services and a triage-based system to ensure women get the right service at the right time.
We have more information about who is eligible and how to access this service.
