How to access this service

Your doctor will arrange for your to access this service.

What to expect

You’ll check in at our reception desk when you first arrive and will be given a wrist band confirming your identity.

One of our nurses will take your vital signs (such as blood pressure and temperature) and if the treatment you are receiving requires premedications (such as paracetamol) we will offer them to you.

We may warm your arms to assist us in identifying your best veins, before one of our nurses inserts a cannula into a vein on your lower arm.

Once your infusion is connected you are free to walk around the clinic and use our kitchen space. However, we ask that you do not leave the clinic while your infusion is running.

We will monitor your vital signs throughout your treatment and will react accordingly to any concerns or potential reactions. Once you infusion is complete, we will remove your cannula, book you in for your next appointment and ensure you are feeling well before discharging you.

You can bring one (1) support person with you but they need to have a negative RAT result before entering the clinic.

You are welcome to bring your own food. If you are receiving treatment over lunch, we will offer you the hospital lunch menu at no cost. We also have a small kitchen space for staff and patients with coffee and tea.

Some of the infusions we administer take multiple hours. You are very welcome to bring your devices, reading materials, and other quiet activities to help pass the time. There is free Wi-Fi access and we also have a small collection of books, magazines, and mindfulness colouring activities for you to use.

What to bring to your appointment

  • Medicare card
  • Any letters or correspondence from your GP
  • Medicines you need to take while you are here
