The ACT Eating Disorders Clinical Hub (‘the Hub’) is the central referral point for eating disorder services in the ACT.

Anyone in the ACT can refer themselves, or someone they are concerned about, for assessment and support.

About this service

The Hub is a centralised referral system that makes it easier for individuals and health professionals to refer people with eating disorders into the public system to get the care they need.

We bring together resources and expertise to provide timely treatment for people on the spectrum of eating disorders.

We are also available to provide advice, support and training for people and clinicians working with people with eating disorders.

Who we care for

We accept referrals from anyone within the ACT who is concerned about themselves or another person with an eating disorder or disordered eating behaviour. This may include:

  • Anorexia Nervosa (AN)
  • Bulimia Nervosa (BN)
  • Binge Eating Disorder
  • Other Specific Feeding and Eating Disorders (OSFED).

National Eating Disorders Collaboration has more information about types of eating disorders.

How to access this service

You do not need a GP referral for this service.

However, if the referral is made by someone other than a GP or medical professional, your GP will need to provide further information.

Referrals can be made by anyone who is concerned about themselves or someone else with an eating disorder or disordered eating behaviours. This includes individuals, family members, carers, friends, GPs and other health professionals.

To refer yourself or someone else into the Hub, please call (02) 5124 4326 or email chs.edch@act.gov.au

What to expect

Once we receive your referral, we will undertake a detailed intake, triage and assessment process to determine the best care pathway for you.

If clinically indicated, we can provide referrals to the following services:

We may recommend private or other services. If we do, we will provide this feedback as part of your recommended treatment pathway.

The Hub is a voluntary service. We are not a medical or crisis service. If you are in crisis, please call Access Mental Health.
