Our Dermatology Department cares for and treats people with problems relating to their skin, hair, and nails.

About this service

We see people of all ages including inpatients and outpatients.

Our outpatient clinics include:

  • Adult Dermatology Clinic
  • Paediatric Dermatology Clinic
  • Renal transplant Dermatology Clinic
  • Oncology Dermatology Clinic.

Who we care for

Our services are available to people who have a referral from a GP.

We offer these services for free if you have a Medicare Card or an Asylum Seeker Card.

How to access this service

If you have a skin condition, you should visit your GP in the first instance.

If your skin condition is complex, high risk or requires specialist care, your GP will refer you to a dermatologist.

You can ask your GP for a referral to a dermatologist if you are concerned about your condition.

What to expect

We will triage your referral once we receive it. Urgent cases will be escalated and prioritised. We’ll send you a letter to confirm your appointment. For information regarding your booking or to make changes please contact us via Central Health Intake on (02) 5124 2415.

What to bring to your appointment

  • Medicare card
  • Any letters or correspondence from your GP
  • Health Care Card and/or concession card (if you have one)
  • Private health insurance card (if applicable/if you want to use it)
  • List of medicines you are currently taking (or the boxes), including medicines you have bought without a prescription, such as herbal supplements and vitamins
  • Previous x-ray films, scans, ultrasounds or any other test results or reports
  • Your child’s personal health record (Blue Book)
  • Medicated creams or ointments and other creams you have used for your skin
