Position overview

The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to achieve exceptional health care. Multiple positions are available throughout Canberra Hospital, North Canberra Hospital and University of Canberra Hospital including but not limited to:

  • Relief Pool
  • General Medical/Surgical
  • Women, Youth and Children (NICU, Special Care Nursery and paediatrics)
  • Perioperative Services
  • Critical care areas (ICU, ED, CCU)
  • Mental Health Services
  • Cancer Services
  • Acute Care of the Elderly
  • Medical Imaging
  • Outpatient departments
  • Rehabilitation and Aged Care

Key responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Provide patient centred care within an ethical and professional framework.

Qualifications

Specific qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following.

Essential

  • Tertiary Qualification or related qualification in nursing
  • Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • A minimum of 1 year clinical experience in a hospital setting

Appointment to this position is conditional on being granted and retaining appropriate clearances.

Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates, and contingencies.
