The Enrolled Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to achieve exceptional health care. The position description covers positions throughout Canberra Hospital, North Canberra Hospital and UCH including but not limited to:

Key responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.
Under limited direction of the Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will perform a role within the multi-disciplinary team to provide nursing care to patients in a safe, appropriate, and timely manner. You will:
- Assist in the provision of comprehensive direct nursing care, within the scope of practice of an Enrolled Nurse, under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse.
- Provide patient centred care within an ethical and professional framework.
- Practice in accordance with the relevant legislation.
- Practice in a way that acknowledges the dignity, culture, values, beliefs, and rights of individuals and/or groups.
- Advocate for individuals and or groups and their rights for nursing care within the organisational and management structure.
- Understand and practices within own scope of practice.
- Integrate nursing and health care knowledge, skills and attitudes to provide safe and effective nursing care.
- Integrate organisational policy and guidelines with professional standards.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.

Qualifications
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.
Essential
- Tertiary Qualification or related qualification in Enrolled Nursing
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Desirable
- Have an understanding of how the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators align with this role.
Experience
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.
Essential
- Completed successful graduation in nursing within the last year.
- Experience or knowledge of the CHS Exceptional Care Framework, Clinical Governance Framework, and all other related frameworks.
Prior to commencement
Appointment to this position is conditional on being granted and retaining appropriate clearances.
- Pre-employment National Police Check.
- Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.

Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates, and contingencies.
