Ward 8B – Renal
The Registered Nurse Level 1 in Ward 8B provides high quality nursing care to patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, including those requiring dialysis and complex medical management. This includes comprehensive assessment, management of symptoms such as fluid imbalance, electrolyte disturbances and fatigue, safe medication administration, and monitoring for complications.
The RN1 works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, supported by senior nurses and clinical development nurses, to deliver high quality acute patient care. This role requires participation in a full rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays, and night duty.
Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
The Registered Nurse Level 1 in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) provides high quality nursing care to patients with acute and complex cardiac conditions. This includes comprehensive assessment, continuous cardiac monitoring, administration of medications and specialised therapies, and early recognition and management of clinical deterioration.
The RN1 works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, supported by senior nurses and clinical development nurses, to deliver high quality, patient-centred care. This role requires participation in a full rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays, and night duty.
Ward 7A
Neurology and Infectious disease ward. Ward 7A has 28 beds + 4 Acute Stroke beds
Ward 7B
General Medicine Ward with 32 ward beds. Patient cohort – acutely unwell mental health patients and eating disorder patients
Ward 9A
Gastro-enterology medical ward. Ward has 24 ward beds
Key responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.

Qualifications
Specific experience includes but is not limited to the following.
Essential
- Tertiary Qualification or related qualification in nursing
- Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Desirable
- Have an understanding of how the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators align with this role.

Specific experience includes but is not limited to the following.
Essential
- A minimum 1 years’ fulltime equivalent experience as Registered Nurse in acute care setting
Desirable
- Prior experience in an acute or subacute hospital setting will be highly desirable
- Experience or knowledge of the CHS Exceptional Care Framework, and all other related frameworks.
- Driver’s License

Appointment to this position is conditional on being granted and retaining appropriate clearances.
