Position Overview

Infrastructure and Facilities Services supports the delivery of high-quality care by ensuring our buildings, equipment's and systems are functioning as they should.

The team supports the functionality, safety and sustainability of the buildings and infrastructure at North Canberra Hospital (NCH) and Clare Holland House (CHH). This involves the management and maintenance of our physical assets, infrastructure, fixed plant and equipment and systems, as well as ensuring our assets are compliant with safety and environment regulations.

Your role as an Asset Manager within Infrastructure and Facilities Services is to provide the infrastructure and equipment support necessary to allow the hospital to deliver its core business – the provision of safe quality health care to the community.

You will also be responsible to oversee and manage the hospital’s vehicle fleet across NCH and CHH.

Key responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.

  1. Proactively manage and administer NCH and CHH asset replacement, disposal, and procurement program inclusive of infrastructure, equipment, and fleet vehicles.
  2. Coordinating the establishment and effective governance framework in the management, evaluation and procurement of NCH and CHH assets.
  3. Coordinate safe decommission and dispose of end-of-life equipment in line with CHS Asset Management Procedure.
  4. Oversee distribution and management of assets in line with CHA Asset Management Policy when delegating tasks to other team members.
  5. Conducting regular audits to validate assets for both new and existing assets at NCH and CHH ensuring assets meet Australian standards, regulations, and where appropriate comply with the Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA) requirements.
  6. Assisting the facilities management team with asset management overseeing administrative responsibilities and processes.
  7. Contributing to the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of Infrastructure and Facilities Services policies and procedures related to asset management.
  8. Maintain current knowledge in relevant product innovation and market trends.
  9. Create and maintain an up-to-date asset register for NCH and CHH.
  10. Effectively communicate and consult with diverse stakeholders to identify and explore asset management opportunities that enhance service delivery, improve efficiency, and drive innovation.
  11. Undertaking other duties, commensurate with your classification, which contribute to the effective operation of the organisation.

Position Requirements / Qualifications

Mandatory

  • Hold a current driver’s licence.
  • High-level interpersonal skills in order to influence and provide key information to support decisions made by a diverse stakeholder group.
  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in alignment to the CHS Exceptional Care Framework and all other related frameworks.

What you Require (Key Selection Criteria)

  1. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to negotiate and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Proven experience in auditing, reporting and management of asset data within a large portfolio.
  3. Demonstrate experience procuring medical equipment, fleet management and administration.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to be proactive and flexible to manage competing priorities while working under pressure and within tight timeframes.
  5. Demonstrates understanding of, and adherence to, safety and quality standards, Work Health and Safety and the positive patient experience. Displays behaviour consistent with CHS’s values of reliable, progressive, respectful, and kind.
