Position Overview

Duties

Under limited direction of the Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will:

• Provide high-level nursing care, clinical assessment, and intervention for patients within medical imaging whilst working within the boundaries of professional legislation and existing policies and procedures.
• Contribute to the multidisciplinary team approach, including the implementation of best practice and evidence-based models.
• Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement programs, clinical policies, procedures, and research programs.
• Participate in the development of patient and staff education strategies.
• Be a role model, mentor, advocate, clinical teacher, and supervisor, for nursing staff and students, as well as other health professionals.
• Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.

Position Requirements / Qualifications

Mandatory

• Registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• A minimum of 4 years’ experience working professionally.
• The successful applicant will need to be available to be rostered for weekend and after-hours shifts.
• CHS is leading the drive to digitally transform health service delivery in Australia through the implementation of a territory wide Digital Health Record. Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates and contingencies.

Highly Desirable

• A minimum of 1 year in the specialty of medical imaging is preferred.
• Have an understanding of how the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators align with this role.
• Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in alignment to the CHS Exceptional Care Framework and all other related frameworks.

Please note prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to:.

• Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
• Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.

1. Proven high level of clinical knowledge, with demonstrated problem solving skills and a proven ability to coordinate and support complex patient care within the multidisciplinary setting.
2. Effective high level interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to liaise and foster positive relationships with all stakeholders, with a focus to achieve agreed health outcomes.
3. Evidence of commitment to maintaining ongoing professional development of self and others through participation in education and training activities relevant to clinical practice,
4. Ability to initiate, implement, embed, and evaluate quality improvement, policy and research projects which contribute to improved knowledge, practice, and care relevant to medical imaging.
5. Demonstrates understanding of, and adherence to, safety and quality standards, Work Health and Safety and the positive patient experience. Displays behaviour consistent with CHS’s values of reliable, progressive, respectful, and kind.
