Position overview
Reporting to the General Manager (GM) the Business Manager is responsible for providing high level advice to, and coordinating, driving and delivering work undertaken by the GM.
As Business Manager you will work closely with the GM, the executive, and the teams that report to the GM. You will support the organisation to meet key compliance requirements, including undertaking ministerial and government business.
Key responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.
- Provide management and oversight of highly complex issues and projects.
- Provide strategic and procedural advice on directorate and government issues, whether on request, in consultation with relevant areas, or on your own initiative.
- Prepare strategic and complex submissions, reports, briefs and correspondence in relation to a diverse range of matters on behalf of the GM.
- Liaise with CHS executives and their business units, other ACTPS directorates and external stakeholders on behalf of the GM.
- Provide leadership and oversight to a small support team, including an Executive Assistant and an Executive Officer, to ensure effective support to the General Manager
- Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.

- Relevant qualifications in public sector management and/or relevant public sector experience.
Desirable
- Experience working in a health care setting.
- Experience or knowledge of the CHS Exceptional Care Framework, and all other related frameworks.
- Have an understanding of how the National Standards and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators align with this role.
Prior to commencement
Appointment to this position is conditional on being granted and retaining appropriate clearances.
