The Division of Women, Youth & Children provides a broad range of primary, secondary and tertiary health services to children, young people, families and women in the ACT and surrounding regions. The Division provides family-centred, multidisciplinary services at Canberra Hospital and in Community Health Centres, client homes, schools and Child and Family Centres. Key Responsibilities
Under limited direction of the Administration Manager, you will perform the role of Team Leader. You will:
- Coordinate and provide administrative duties such as scheduling, booking, billing and medical records within a discreet unit to achieve the provision of a high-quality customer focused outpatient service.
- Be responsible for the monitoring and coordination of clinics in the Patient Administration System and report on outpatient activity using data reporting templates.
- Maintain standards and provide direction to administrative staff working in the outpatient setting around workflow, policies, and professional development, leading a team by developing, maintaining and monitoring work practices, workflow, procedures, guidelines and training of staff.
- Maintain appropriate records and input information into Canberra Health Service, TCH and Outpatient databases and IT systems relevant to the unit.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Medical Benefits Schedule and ability to apply this knowledge into practice.
- Resolve first level complaints / concerns from members of the public, medical practitioners and nursing staff relating to the provision of the outpatient service within the unit.
- Provide support to medical and nursing staff within the clinical department such as, but not limited to, being responsible for coordinating meetings, communication, and general functions to ensure effective coordination of the department’s activities.
- Undertaking other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the section with the delivery of high-quality person and family centred, safe and high-quality patient care.
