Rehabilitation, Aged and Community Services (RACS) is a vibrant and diverse Division within Canberra Health Services providing multidisciplinary Rehabilitation, Aged and Community based care across a range of settings. This includes Canberra Hospital, Community Health Centres, Village Creek Centre in Kambah, and the University of Canberra Hospital.

Working at the Village Creek Centre, the Client Support Services Administration Support Officer is responsible for effective and efficient delivery of administrative support to both internal and external clients to support the delivery of high-quality customer service and patient care.

Equipment Loan Service (ELS)
The ELS team ensures the effective and efficient delivery, collection, cleaning, and maintenance of rehabilitation equipment to support clients in the community. The service is committed to high-quality customer service and client care.

Prosthetics and Orthotics Services
Delivered across Village Creek Centre, Canberra Hospital, and University of Canberra Hospital, this service focuses on high-quality patient care. Scope includes assessment, care planning, production, fitting, adjustment, and repair of prosthetic, orthotic, and medical-grade footwear. Services are provided to clients under various funding bodies.

Clinical Technology Workshop
Provides technical support to Prosthetics and Orthotics and Specialised Wheelchair and Posture Services, including device adjustments, product manufacture, and equipment repairs. Equipment includes wheelchairs, mobility aids, and bathing aids. Services are available to NDIS participants, ACT Equipment Scheme clients, and others.

CHS NDIS Support Unit
Supports CHS services with NDIS-related activity, including the Health Interface and services delivered as a registered NDIS provider.

Under the general direction of the Director, Client Support Services, this role supports a broad range of operational activities. Responsibilities include providing high-quality administrative and general office support to managers, as well as delivering customer-focused services to patients and their carers. The role also requires the physical capability to undertake manual handling tasks associated with equipment services, contributing to the effective delivery of rehabilitation and support services across the unit.

Key Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Undertake administrative functions of the Client Support Services to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
  2. Undertake duties as outlined in the relevant service operations manual in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  3. Provide high-level customer services, in accordance with quality customer service principles and practices.
  4. Work in a collaborative and flexible manner with all staff members to provide service support during hours of operation as directed.
  5. Maintain accurate computerised and manual records, including data entry for inventory and repairs to track and monitor performance against KPIs.
  6. Assist with equipment management tasks such as storage, inspection, and unpacking of delivered and returned items.
  7. Support operational processes that contribute to timely and efficient equipment turnaround.
  8. Assist with the maintenance of policies, procedures, and documentation, as requested.
  9. Support basic resource management tasks such as monitoring supplies and undertakes routine financial administration including invoice processing and purchasing.
  10. Support data entry and performance reporting to assist with service monitoring and contribute to quality assurance and improvement activities relevant to service functions.
  11. Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.
