Reporting to the Deputy CEO, the Senior Project Officer will be responsible for the program management of the health transformation program including oversight of all projects, liaison with clinicians and CHS executives, and reporting to governance forums. This position comes with the great opportunity to influence the transformation of our public health system through innovative ideas, consultation with clinicians and the community and through evidence based projects. Key Responsibilities

Under limited direction, you will:

  • Oversee and manage the program of deliverables under the Health System Transformation Program, in partnership with the DCEO and CHS executive.
  • Liaise with clinicians and the CHS workforce to generate great ideas that will transform our health service delivery.
  • Work in partnership with the Health and Community Services Directorate and across CHS, ensuring the Program is evidence-based.
  • Generate reports to governance forums, the Minister and the Cabinet on progress of the Program.
  • Form strong, respectful relationships across CHS and the ACT Government, leading to successful Program implementation.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.

Competencies

Specific competencies include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Proven success in leading and executing projects for Government.
  • Highly developed coordination, organisation, liaison and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate complex projects.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of clinical environments, preferably in the ACT.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualifications and/or experience in a health related field or in Program or Project Management.

Experience

Essential

  • Previous government project experience knowledge of health systems and health service delivery.

Desirable

  • Experience in the ACT health system.

CHS is leading the drive to digitally transform health service delivery in Australia through the implementation of a territory wide Digital Health Record. Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates, and contingencies.

  2. Demonstrated high level organisational change management skills and ability to engage stakeholders.
  3. Demonstrated experience and well developed conceptual and analytical skills.
  4. Well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, both written and oral, including proven experience in writing other documentation including plans, frameworks, project, evaluation and implementation plans.
  5. Demonstrates understanding of, and adherence to, safety and quality standards, Work Health and Safety and the positive patient experience. Displays behaviour consistent with CHS’s values of reliable, progressive, respectful, and kind.
