Position overview

The Protective Security Project Director position works within Operational Support Services, a section of the Infrastructure and Health Support Services branch (see below summary). The Protective Security Project Director will take the lead in implementing actions that support CHS application of the ACT Protective Security Framework (PSF) and Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) legislation. The position will also assess undertaken security risk assessments at both enterprise and campus levels and develop associated risk action plans.

Key Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Embed PSF and SOCI requirements into core business processes ensuring clear ownership, accountability, and ongoing compliance across relevant operational areas.
  • Review and validate the Security Risk Assessment (SRA) recommendations and develop a detailed Risk Action Plan that assigns clear responsibilities and timelines for remediation, actions and task owners.
  • Integrate SRA derived recommendations into existing risk management and governance frameworks ensuring alignment with SOCI obligations and PSF protective security principles.
  • Develop a detailed technical scope of works and cost estimates for security projects arising from SRA findings and prepare business cases that demonstrate compliance with PSF and SOCI and align with organisations risk priorities.
  • Support the implementation of PSF and SOCI initiatives across Canberra Health Services contributing to the uplift of Protective Security capabilities and the maturity of SRA processes.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification, that directly support the strategic implementation of SRA, PSF, and SOCI compliance, contributing to the organisation's critical infrastructure protection and overall security posture.

Essential

  • Relevant qualifications in government protective security/security risk analysis and/or public safety, or alternate relevant qualification or experience.
  • Understanding of the ACT Protective Security Framework and Security of Critical Infrastructure legislation.

  • Experience delivering high-level support and strategic guidance in security risk assessment, overseeing deployment of security infrastructure and implementation effective risk mitigation measures.
  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role as detailed in the CHS Exceptional Care Framework and all other related frameworks

Desirable

  • Prior experience in project and/or risk management.
