Position overview
The position reports to the Director, Procurement under the Senior Director who leads the Procurement and Supply Branch within CFO Division.
The position has responsibility for coordination of procurement services for CHS including undertaking simple and low-medium risk procurement projects, procurement administration and customer support services and helps to ensure that:
- Procurement activities are consistently registered and progressed across the organisation.
- Procurement customers receive appropriate support and advice.
- Compliance with all relevant legislation is achieved.
- Compliance with CHS procurement processes.
This position will initially be located at the Canberra Hospital and may be required to work periodically at other CHS sites including the CHS Distribution Centre.
Key Responsibilities
This position is an autonomous role working with minimal supervision and is responsible for but not limited to:
- Delivering timely outputs, ensuring favourable outcomes are achieved for the organisation utilising your project management skills and experience to manage your workload.
- Provide procurement support services, which may include:
- Interacting with clients face to face and electronically providing appropriate advice, processes, and templates to ensure the timely progression of procurement projects.
- Development of procurement and contract documentation under the supervision of more senior team members.
- Procurement registration and administration.
- Writing a range of procurement related documentation including Minutes, Requests for Quotation/Tender, Risk Plans and Reports ensuring information is delivered in a consultative, timely and efficient manner.
- Coordination of procurement and/or contract reporting in accordance with CHS and ACT Government requirements. Identified priorities include:
- Gather required information from a range of data sources.
- Develop and populate CHS and whole of government registers as required.
- Displaying and promoting behaviours that advocate CHS core values and working collaboratively with peers to balance workloads.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.

Specific qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in either contract administration/management, business analysis, or database management, including analytical background within a supply chain environment are highly desirable.

- Experience and/or training in procurement is high desirable.

- Experience working professionally demanding client project environment would be an advantage.
Desirable
- Experience and training in software systems used for data management, communication, and word processing, such as Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Excel, are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ACT Government procurement legislation and processes would be an advantage.
- Have an understanding of how the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators align with this role.
- Experience or knowledge of the CHS Exceptional Care Framework, and all other related frameworks.
Prior to commencement
Appointment to this position is conditional on being granted and retaining appropriate clearances:
- Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.

CHS is leading the drive to digitally transform health service delivery in Australia through the implementation of a territory wide Digital Health Record. Computer literacy skills are required, which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates, and contingencies.
