Available for an immediate commencement for 11 months with possible extension and/or permanency. The Medical Administration Assistant is a pivotal role within the Medical Administration unit of Canberra Hospital.

Medical Administration has responsibility for:

  • The development, co-ordination, management and facilitation of the Junior Medical Officer (JMO) Education and Training Program
  • Rostering of the JMO cohort
  • The recruitment and general administration of junior and senior medical workforces

This role works directly in the recruitment team providing support and administrative functions to the recruitment and onboarding of medical officers as well as administrative support to the Medical Administration team when required.

This position would suit a highly organised, strong communicator, with excellent attention to detail, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Providing administrative support to the Medical Administration Unit, including telephone calls, responding to written correspondence, and general enquiries.
  • Undertake recruitment and onboarding activities regarding the medical workforce.
  • Provision of financial processing for the Unit, including general invoices and locum payments.
  • Provide assistance to all teams within the Medical Administration Unit as required.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.
