Position overview

The Equipment Loan Service team is responsible for efficient delivery, collection, cleaning and maintenance of rehabilitation equipment to support clients in the community to safely discharge from a health facility and to provide equipment to the community for clients under Palliative care.

Key Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.

  1. Provide high quality customer service across  multiple work environments including office, equipment store, client homes and  other healthcare facilities, in relation to the delivery, set-up, collection  and maintenance of a diverse range of equipment that enhances the independence  of clients and supports the roles of carers.
  2. Contribute to the provision of equipment  management tasks, including equipment storage, inspection, un-packaging and  appropriate storage of delivered and returned equipment, identification of  equipment defects and tagging, maintenance of equipment to ensure continued  and effective service delivery.
  3. Contribute to and participate in the  equipment cleaning service in accordance with relevant policies and  procedures, as directed.
  4. Participate as directed in the provision of  the delivery service including the driving roster, loading and unloading of  equipment, installation of heavy equipment items, coordination of delivery  schedule documentation and communication with clients and referrers.
  5. Communicate effectively with colleagues,  clients, health professionals, carers, and members of the public in a range of  settings and circumstances.
  6. Undertake other  duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the  operation of the organisation.

  • Have responsibility for the completion of allocated tasks within required timeframes and compliance with set procedures.
  • Have a basic understanding of the services role and functions
  • Liaise with other areas within the service, acting in a support role to arrange basic requirements of routine work activities.
  • Provide advice on routine queries/issues within the constraints of policy/procedures
  • Contribute to the operations of the work area
  • Undertake routine labouring tasks
  • Undertake routine cleaning functions

Qualifications / Experience

Specific qualifications and experience include, but are not limited to, the following.

Essential

  • Hold a current driver’s license.
  • A high level of fitness & ability to perform all duties

  4. Established computer experience including proficiency in the use of Microsoft applications and the ability adapt to new programs.
