Position overview
The Hospital Projects transition team was established to achieve the transition of Calvary Public Hospital Bruce to the North Canberra Hospital (NCH). The team is now implementing the Post Acquisition Plan to complete transition activities and integrate NCH CHS. Working within the transition team, the position is focused on supporting transition activities for NCH ICT infrastructure and applications to the ACTGOV network.
Key Responsibilities
Under limited direction of the Senior Director, you will:
- Provide project management expertise and end-to-end project life cycle including resource management, procurement and scheduling.
- Provide detailed advice to achieve quality and timely completion of the project to move NCH ICT infrastructure and systems to the ACTGOV network.
- Work as a member of a team and provide leadership and guidance to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness of the project.
- Prepare and coordinate executive level briefs and minutes reports, and correspondence on complex issues including high quality reporting and advice to senior management, the executive team and partner directorates.
- Engage, communicate and build networks with a wide range of ICT and business stakeholders at all levels of management to understand the strategic and tactical needs of business areas, to develop benefits-led and promote business-focused investment proposals for ICT enabled solutions.
- Engage and communication with external stakeholders including contractors, sub-contractors, vendors and suppliers.
- Contribute to positive engagement working with a range of stakeholders across ACT Government directorates and with ICT suppliers associated with the project.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operations of the section.

Specific experience includes but is not limited to the following.
Essential
- Comprehensive understanding of the ACT Legislative Assembly passed Health Infrastructure Enabling Act of 2023 to support the transition of the NCH campus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of end-to-end project management in a hospital environment.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical architecture.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation of project document artifacts for presentation to the steering committee and working groups.
- Demonstrated experience with the ACT Government Procurement process.
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining relationships with complex stakeholders with competing interests to achieve a successful outcome.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate the work, priorities and outputs of a project team in the delivery of high-quality outputs.
- Experience or knowledge of the CHS Exceptional Care Framework, and all other related frameworks.
Desirable
- Demonstrated experience with the ICT infrastructure landscape of the North Canberra Hospital.
- Have a detailed understanding of CHS, DSD, and DDTS change management processes.

- Well-developed communication skills, including liaison and accuracy of written documentation, and ability to develop project related documentation and other correspondence.
