Mental Health, Justice Health and Alcohol and Drugs Services (MHJHADS) Division

MHJHADS plays a crucial role in providing tertiary and community health services directly and through partnerships with primary health organisations. Services range from inpatient hospital, community health and custodial settings. Service delivery encompasses a holistic continuum of mental health care by way of prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation options across the lifespan. Collaborating with consumers, family/carers, government, and non-government services ensures that healthcare outcomes and experiences are met.

Located in the City Health Centre, Moore st, the Service and Transformation team provides strategic support across MHJHADS and high-level coordination, liaison, research, reporting and advice on specific issues aligned to the strategic objectives in the Divisional business plan. This includes leading the development, coordination and implementation of projects, service review and redesign activities, and the development and review of policies, procedures and processes that underpin MHJHADS Models of Care. Service and Transformation coordinate division wide planning, delivery and evaluation of professional development, and are leading the expansion of the lived experience workforce, and consumer and carer engagement across the Division.

Position overview

Under limited direction of the Senior Director, you will provide administrative support for all Service and Transformation team functions. Broadly these are:

  • Training, education, and workforce development.
  • Projects and policy support.
  • Lived experience and Peer pathways program.

Key Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Provide administrative support and coordination for MHJHADS Staff Development activities including MHJHADS training days, and processing of learning and development applications using the Learning Management System (HRIMS).
  2. Provide comprehensive administrative support, including day-to-day office coordination, diary and meeting management, data entry and reporting, and secretariat support for the team, working groups and committees.
  3. Monitor and manage a high volume of incoming correspondence, phone calls and internal and external stakeholder enquiries to ensure all items are prioritised, tracked and actioned appropriately and within deadlines.
  4. Support finance functions, such as tracking expenditure, processing invoices and reimbursements, submitting requisitions, and coordinating stationery orders.
  5. Maintain business data systems and processes, including co-ordination of work health and safety reporting, key performance indicators, learning and development reporting and business plans.
  6. Perform other duties as required within this classification to contribute to the effective functioning of the organisation.
