The Division of Cancer and Ambulatory Support (CAS) provides a comprehensive range of assessment, diagnostic, and treatment services across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. The Division is also responsible for the five nurse-led Walk-in Centres, Central Outpatients Department, BreastScreen ACT, and Central Health Intake services.

Working at the Canberra Region Cancer Centre, the Administration team is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of administrative support to both internal and external clients, supporting the provision of high-quality customer service and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.

Under limited direction you will perform duties associated with the role of Administration Officer for the Canberra Region Cancer Centre. You will:

  1. Under general direction, provide administrative support to the Canberra Region Cancer Centre to ensure high quality support for clinicians and customer focused services to patients and their carers.
  2. Provide high-level customer services, in accordance with quality customer service principles and practices.
  3. Undertake duties as outlined in the relevant operations manual in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  4. Work in a collaborative and flexible manner with all staff members to provide administrative support during hours of operation as directed and contribute positively to the culture of the wider team and department
  5. Promote a team environment to achieve service delivery KPI requirements, and to escalate as required.
  6. Supervise, train and support colleagues as required.
  7. Undertake all data entry with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  8. Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.
