This years Allied Health Graduate cohort are ready to support our community

09 February 2024

This week we welcomed 59 new Allied Health graduates into our workforce as part of our brand-new centralised Allied Health graduate program, which is one of the first of its kind in Australia.

The program focuses on six disciplines, Speech Pathology, Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology and Social Work, and covers recruitment, onboarding, clinical rotations, education, supervision and peer networking.

Several other professions are also benefiting from the orientation and education components of the program including Oral Health, Exercise Physiology and Clinical Measurement Sciences.

The program aims to make sure new Allied Health graduates receive the same level of support and education, regardless of where they are placed, as well as fostering increased networking opportunities.

Lisa, one of the program’s clinical educators, says the program’s goal is to make sure graduates are provided with meaningful education, training, supervision and clinical experiences.

‘I’m really excited to give the new grads the opportunity to network and learn in a fun exciting way that’s meaningful to them. I’m also excited to see them get out there and try different work areas and find the clinical area that they are most passionate about.’

The centralised program also allows the team to streamline administrative tasks for supervisors, including recruitment, onboarding and education facilitation. This allows them to spend less time on paperwork and more time focused on sharing their knowledge directly with graduates.

With over 100 team members consulting and contributing to get the program developed, it’s a big achievement for our Allied Health and Education teams and we can’t wait to see what’s next for the program.
