About this service

The Therapies team provides psychological, psychosocial, functional, and occupation-focused interventions for adults aged 18-64 experiencing moderate to severe mental health concerns. Adults over 65 are considered on a case-by-case basis.

The team's role is to offer targeted psychological and occupational therapy interventions for individuals who cannot access these services elsewhere in the community.

The duration of therapy is based on the specific therapeutic approach adopted in accordance with best practice evidence and considers the client’s progress and response to treatment. A Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) review of progress is conducted after the initial 12 sessions of therapy (or earlier/adhoc as required) to inform ongoing service provision for the client.

We provide assessment and intervention for people who:

  • are 18 years old or older
  • have a moderate to severe mental illness
  • are receiving treatment and care through a Mental Health Community Recovery Service
  • are unable to access the assessment and therapy they need in the community.
