Supporting Young People Through Early Intervention Prevention Strategies is a voluntary mental health residential program that is operated by CatholicCare in partnership with our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. It provides support to young people between 13-17 years of age, for a period of up to three months.

About this service

This residential program is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by CatholicCare’s Youth Mental Health Support Workers and a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services Liaison staff member during business hours.

The program can support you to participate in a range of social and therapeutic activities. Our program can help you to develop skills and resources to manage your mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Who we care for

We support young people between 13 and 17 years old who are currently linked with CAMHS community mental health services and:

  • are experiencing moderate to severe symptoms of mental illness, and
  • require support but not hospitalization, or
  • are about to exit hospital and are not quite ready to return home.

For more information, please contact Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Community Teams Monday to Friday (except public holidays), between 8.30am and 4:30pm.
