Our Physiotherapy Service provides a casting and orthopaedic device fitting clinic for patients with upper and lower limb fractures.

About this service

You can access this service if you need the application or removal of:

  • waterproof and non waterproof synthetic casts
  • plaster casts
  • darco shoes
  • zimmer splints and range of motion braces
  • Moonboots/CAMboots

We also split casts for air travel and provide equipment as needed.

Who we care for

Our services are available for anyone who has a referral from their GP, including NSW residents. We treat people of all ages, including children.

How to access this service

To access this service you must have a referral from your GP or medical practitioner.

What to expect

Once we receive your referral, you will be contacted via phone to arrange an appointment time.

When it is time for your appointment, the physiotherapist will apply or remove the cast or orthopaedic device as directed by your medical practitioner.

There are costs associated for the cast or orthopaedic device, if required.

What to bring to your appointment

  • Medicare card
  • Any letters or correspondence from your GP
  • Previous x-ray films, scans, ultrasounds or any other test results or reports

We are based at North Canberra Hospital (formerly Calvary Public Hospital Bruce), Physiotherapy Gym, level 2, Marian Building.

We have directions to North Canberra Hospital.
