Our Paediatric Sleep clinic provides care and treatment for babies, children and teenagers with problems affecting their sleep.

About this service

We specialise in assessing conditions such as:

  • sleep apnoea
  • narcolepsy
  • periodic leg movement disorder
  • insomnia.

We can arrange, if necessary, formal overnight sleep studies either in Canberra or, if necessary, in one of the Sydney sleep units.

Who we care for

We see babies, children and teenagers, up to their 16th birthday, who have been referred by their GP or other specialist.

How to access this service

Your GP or specialist will need to send us a referral for you to access this service.

What to expect

Your referral will be looked at and triaged according to urgency. You will receive a letter about your appointment date and time once it has been booked.

GP referrals are valid for 12 months. Referrals from specialist doctors are valid for 3 months.

A new referral is needed for any new condition.

What to bring to your appointment

  • Medicare card
  • Any letters or correspondence from your GP
  • Private health insurance card (if applicable/if you want to use it)
  • Medicines you need to take while you are here
  • List of medicines you are currently taking (or the boxes), including medicines you have bought without a prescription, such as herbal supplements and vitamins
  • Previous x-ray films, scans, ultrasounds or any other test results or reports
  • Your child’s personal health record (Blue Book)
