Our Paediatric Diabetes Clinic provides care and treatment for children and teenagers with diabetes.
About this service
The clinic brings together paediatric endocrine specialists, diabetes educators, dietitians and social workers to care for and support children with diabetes and their families and carers.
Who we care for
We see children and teenagers up to their 16th birthday, who have been referred by their GP or other specialist.
How to access this service
Your GP or specialist will need to send us a referral for you to access this service.
What to expect
We will review your referral and triage it according to urgency.
You will receive a letter about your appointment date and time once it has been booked.
What to bring to your appointment
- Medicare card
- Any letters or correspondence from your GP
- Medicines you need to take while you are here
- Private health insurance card (if applicable/if you want to use it)
- List of medicines you are currently taking (or the boxes), including medicines you have bought without a prescription, such as herbal supplements and vitamins
- Previous x-ray films, scans, ultrasounds or any other test results or reports
- Your child’s personal health record (Blue Book)
- Your blood glucose meter
- Your blood glucose diary/record book
- Your favourite hypo food
- Your diabetes medicines
