Our Early Parenting Support phone line can support you with maternal and child health, breastfeeding and parenting concerns.
About this service
When you call our Early Parenting Support phone line you can leave a voicemail message to speak with one of our Maternal, Child and Family Health (MACH) nurses and/or midwives.
Our MACH staff are Registered Nurses and/or Midwives and hold additional qualifications in maternal, child and family health.
They can support you over the phone with questions or concerns about:
- maternal and child health and development
- breastfeeding and
- emotional wellbeing concerns.
We can also connect you with other services for follow-up care.
Who we care for
This service is for parents/carers with children up to 5 years of age.
This service is free for Medicare and Asylum Seeker card holders.
How to access this service
To contact the Early Parenting Support line, call (02) 5124 1775 at any time. Leave a voicemail message with:
- your name
- your best contact number, and
- the reason from your call.
One of our health professionals will call you back between 8:30am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
What to expect
We will call you back as soon as possible after your call.
We will ask you about your concerns and provide you with advice and guidance during the call.
We will refer you for further care if needed, or we will help you connect with other appropriate services if we can’t resolve your concerns over the phone.
What to bring to your appointment
- Your child’s personal health record (Blue Book).
