Antivirals not available at this clinic
Antiviral medications for people at risk of severe disease are not available at this clinic. You need to contact your GP or the COVID Care@Home team.
We have a dedicated clinic to provide you with the support, advice and care you need if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have had a positive rapid antigen test (RAT).
About this service
The COVID-19 Clinic at Garran Surge Centre provides face to face support for your COVID or non-COVID related medical concerns.
The clinic can also help you with non-life-threatening injuries or illnesses unrelated to COVID, such as cuts, strains and sprains, bites and stings, infections and wounds.
It can also provide in-person support and advice to help you manage your COVID symptoms at home.
Who we care for
Anyone who tests positive to COVID-19 over the age of 2.
If you have a child under 2 years, please call your GP or the ACT COVID-19 Care@Home team on (02) 5124 3085 rather than visit this clinic.
How to access this service
The clinic is free and is open from 8.30am until 5pm every day.
You do not need an appointment.
What to expect
You will be assessed by an Advanced Practice Nurse or Nurse Practitioner who will provide treatment for your presenting condition.
We provide care on a first come, first seen basis.
When you arrive please see our reception staff and tell them why you need to see a nurse. They’ll ask you for your name and other details before you will wait for your turn to see the nurse.
If you consent, we will send your GP a summary of your visit.
Some people who are at risk of severe illness from COVID-19 may be eligible for specific treatment, such as oral antivirals. These antiviral medications are most effective when started early during your infection (ideally within 5 days). You need to see your GP or COVID Care@Home Clinic for these medications. They are not available at this clinic. The ACT Government's COVID-19 website has more information on COVID-19 treatments and people at higher risk of a serious COVID-19 illness.
What to bring to your appointment

- Any letters or correspondence from your GP
