We offer a range of outpatient services for older people in the ACT. These include:

Assess the needs of frail older people and help them to access support.

Provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment of psychological and emotional problems.

Helps people who have experienced falls or are looking for ways to minimise their risk of falling.

Comprehensive geriatric assessment of older people with multiple and complex medical issues.

Helps people with undiagnosed medical conditions or multiple active medical problems.

Provides clinical care to Canberrans in residential aged care facilities to better manage their conditions, preventing a trip to hospital.

Provides early diagnosis, treatment, advice and referral for people under 70 with early memory changes or possible dementia.

Assessment, care planning and interventions to people who are 65 years old or older who are experiencing a moderate to severe mental illness.

Offers comprehensive assessment of the older people who have features of Parkinsonism.

Visits older people in their own home to do assessments with the aim of keep older people safe at home.

Provides support as you move from hospital into a residential aged care facility.

An inpatient social work service that supports people over 80 years old with a sudden or age-related illness.

The Transitional Therapy and Care Program (TTCP) is a short-term, goal-oriented program that aims to improve the independence of older people after being in hospital.

We also provide:

  • an acute inpatient service at Canberra Hospital, and
  • a Subacute Geriatric Unit (for people who are not severely ill) at University of Canberra Hospital.
