How Asthma medications work

Reliever
- Taken with asthma signs
- Works quickly to relax tight airways
Preventer
- Taken every day to reduce swelling and mucus
Asthma/Wheeze First Aid
- Sit child the upright.
- Shake blue/grey reliever. Give 1 puff into spacer. Take 4 breaths from spacer. Shake puffer. Repeat until 4 puffs given.
- If not breathing normally, call Ambulance on 000.
- Keep giving 4 puffs every 4 minutes until help arrives or breathing returns to normal.
