Position overview

The People and Culture Division is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational implementation of human resource strategies relating to a diverse range of human resource and industrial relations functions across Canberra Health Services.

Working closely with other Canberra Health Services Division’s the People and Culture portfolio delivers strategically-aligned workforce solutions in areas including change management, diversity and inclusion, learning and development, industrial and employee relations, pay and benefits, rewards and talent acquisition.

The Division also plans, designs, communicates and monitors Canberra Health Services Workforce strategy with a focus on building organisation and change management capability, and providing workforce data to support strategic decision-making to enable Canberra Health Services to deliver on its strategic agenda.

As part of a team the Senior Advisor is responsible for assisting in workforce planning and data analytics for assigned areas to respond to strategic priorities and to inform system wide actions to meet future workforce outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Under direction of the Senior Director Workforce Planning, Reporting and Systems, you will perform workforce planning activities and analysis for assigned areas of the CHS with the support of the Director, Workforce Planning.

As part of the team you will be responsible for:

  • Manage workforce data reporting including the development and maintenance of Power BI workforce dashboards.
  • Analysis of workforce data to assist in the development of reporting metrics across Canberra Health Services.
  • Work collaboratively with the stakeholders to retrieve, analyse and interpret data required to support relevant strategic planning objectives.
  • Actively contribute to the workforce team through the supply of technical advice and contribute to all areas of the workforce planning process, including but not limited to workforce modelling, systems design and development, and research of national and international workforce, population and health trends.
  • Undertaking other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the section with the delivery of high-quality person and family centred, safe and high-quality patient care.

  4. Demonstrated experience in setting priorities and managing a diverse range of duties, including self-management, project management skills, research and analytical skills.
