Visitors and patients to Canberra Hospital will be welcomed in a new Main Reception, in the new Critical Services Building (Building 5 on campus) from 3 June 2024.

It won’t be hard to find off Hospital Road. The new space has been designed to be a focal point to navigate throughout the hospital campus.

As soon as you enter, you’ll be greeted by the open and bright space. Carefully designed to bring the feelings of nature in, with floor to ceiling windows allowing ample daylight.

You will see beautiful artwork adorning the walls, created by a local artist, to foster wellbeing and a sense of inclusiveness and diversity.

There will be places to sit, meet, and connect. It will also have more amenities and facilities, such as a new café and Changing Places facility.

It will feel quieter and more peaceful, with patients now being transported through dedicated clinical links across the Hospital.

This is 40 metres from its former location in Building 2, level 2.

This move marks a significant milestone as one of the first services to move into the new facility. For now, we look forward to welcoming you to our new Main Reception at Canberra Hospital and we’ll be directing you to services that are still operating in the current hospital building, with clinical services not operational until August.

We look forward to welcoming you.
